Case Study: IKEA Light. Illustrations for Promo Animation by James Gilleard

In this issue of the case study section, let’s glance at a bit of creative backstage behind the classic promo video production process. Here, I invite you to enjoy a set of illustrations created some years ago by digital artist and illustrator James Gilleard for a set of short promotional videos for an IKEA marketing campaign, united by the slogan Light Is Important.

In this project, through elegant illustration art, the artist uncovers the characters’ stories and sets the atmosphere and emotional appeal, skillfully playing with light, shadows, and colors. Sharing the case study on this project for IKEA, he uncovers digital artwork, character art, design, and visual development for a series of short animations highlighting the importance of light in interior design.
