Artistic Branding and Packaging Design Projects by Kingdom&Sparrow

In this issue of D4U Gallery, let’s check a bunch of bright and eye-catching design projects by Kingdom&Sparrow, an independent branding and packaging design agency based in the UK. The team has specialised in food, drink, and lifestyle, collaborating with brands of varying levels of presence to elevate their impact through stylish, memorable brand identity and packaging.

Here, I’ve collected several branding and packaging design cases filled with artistic vibes for various business and marketing goals. Enjoy and get inspired!

Forthglade Dog Food

For over 50 years, Forthglade has been making naturally delicious meals and treats for dogs with a mission to strengthen the bond between pets and their people. They approached Kingdom&Sparrow striving for a brand refresh to introduce them to the new wave of dog owners who see food as more than fuel and want the best, healthiest option for their pooch.

Snackzilla Snacks for Kids

Snackzilla approached the team with a proposal to own the low-sugar snack space for 5- to 13-year-olds. Their handmade oat cookies have 40% less sugar than the average sweet biscuit; what’s more, they’re dairy-free and have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The challenge for designers was to create a brand that would attract and engage their target audience of school-age kids, while also reassuring their parents through these health claims.

Chocolarder: AGAIN Chocolate Bar

Chocolarder is a luxury, sustainable bean-to-bar chocolate maker based in Falmouth and one of the largest bean-to-bar producers in the UK. The manufacturers are passionate about the planet, and their ethical credentials stand out among their competitors. From using minimal ingredients to choosing plastic-free packaging, sustainability impacts every decision they make to create their world-class chocolate.

AGAIN chocolate bar set features three new bar flavours using food that would have otherwise been discarded, to help raise awareness and tackle the huge food waste problem within their industry. They want to show that what some consider waste can be repurposed by others, and it’s about circular-economy thinking.

Young’s Beer

Young’s is one of the UK’s most celebrated heritage beer brands. With a brewery dating back to 1831, they have a lot of experience and tradition, but they have also faced pressure to revitalise and refresh to appeal to a newer generation of beer drinkers.

Delância Sparkling Botanical Drink

Delância is a sparkling botanical aperitif that offers a refreshing alternative to sparkling wine. It’s versatile enough to be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif, mixed into a cocktail, or shared with friends on a sunny day. Delância combines premium Portuguese wine with innovative, all-natural flavours for an elevated drinking experience.

The brand colours echo Portugal’s natural vibrancy and warmth: orange and purple for the rosé wine, and green and turquoise for the white wine. Gold foil accents and embossing on the logo and scalloped-edge label add a premium, elegant touch, elevating the wild illustrative styling to bring a premium to the everyday occasion. For the bottle packaging, the strategy led the design team to a place of dreaminess and playfulness, sparking curiosity and imagination, surrounded by a lively cast of supporting illustrations. Each flavour’s unique personality shines through, creating a bold, colourful, and dynamic visual world. Future-proofed with over 100 individual illustrated assets created throughout the project, the packaging is ready for extension into new flavours, allowing the brand to grow.
